New Speed Limit at Mill Road

There is now a 20 mph speed limit in Petersfield on Mill Road between East Road and Coleridge Road. This scheme is to create a safer environment for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers. Many people use this area as a shortcut and speed along to get to their destination faster.

This is good news for all invovled to make Mill Road and better, quieter and safer place.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), speeding gives you less time to react to a situation, which make crashes more serious. If you jump from 40mph to 60mph, you double the amount of time you need to change action to prevent an accident. With many pedestrians and cyclists in Cambridge, speeding is a death wish upon someone else. Play it safe and reduce your speed.
