The erection of the first tower crane for the hotel is planned for later in the month. All works will take place within the site boundary but it will involve some heavy traffic coming to and from site to facilitate the works.
The closure of cycle and pedestrian route adjacent Cowley Road Avenue will occur from Monday 1st April. Cyclists and pedestrians will be diverted along the guided busway route until this path is reopened later this year. There will be diversion maps outside the station and around the station square.

From the 1st April, if you are delayed by 15 minutes or more you will be able to claim compensation, rather than the current 30 minutes delay threshold for making a claim. The table below provides how much you could claim:
Length of delay Compensation 15 to 29 minutes 25% of the cost of your single ticket or 25% of the cost of your return ticket 30 to 59 minutes 50% of the cost of your one-way ticket or 25% of the cost of your return ticket 60 to 119 minutes 100% of the cost of your one-way ticket or 50% of the cost of your return ticket 120 minutes + 100% of the cost of your ticket whether single or return From the 1st April, Greater Anglia’s delay repay forms will change to enable customers to submit claims for delays of 15 minutes or more. Greater Anglia will use the proportionate cost of the price of the Season Ticket (i.e. 1/10th of a Weekly ticket, 1/40th of a Monthly ticket and 1/464th of an Annual ticket). For more information, please see here. Ely underpass re-opened to traffic end of last month. Work to improve access for pedestrians and cyclists has also been completed. New over-head vehicle detection signs have also been installed and are now live. This final stage marks the completion of the Ely Bypass project!
Funded by Department for Transport, the eCargo bike grant fund is available to limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, charities and not-for-profit organisations. Public, community or third sector organisations are also eligible providing they meet the eligibility criteria. eCargo bike grant funding covers up to 20% of the total cost of an ecargo bike, to a maximum of £1,000 per bike. To be eligible for funding, an ecargo bike must have minimum 125 litre cargo volume capacity and minimum 130 kg weight capacity (rider + cargo weight).
