There will be more cycle path closures needed in late October and Highways England have said they will share details in advance.
Highways England, which is carrying out the bridge works on the A14, have advised that access for pedestrians and cyclists will reopen on 31 August following bridge widening at Impington. The upper part of the bridge works has overrun the scheduled program, and this will prevent buses from using this section at the moment. Therefore, buses will still follow the diverted route until November. More information, can be found here.
There will be more cycle path closures needed in late October and Highways England have said they will share details in advance. Work is due to start on creating the UK’s first Dutch-style roundabout next month – and it’s going to be in Cambridge! It will take 29 weeks (seven months) for the work to be completed, and the roundabout layout for the Fendon Road, Queen Edith’s Way and Mowbray Road junction will be transformed to influence slower approach and departure speeds, thereby reducing the speed of motor vehicles making it safer for cyclists and pedestrians.
This will affect bus users who rely on Citi 1, Citi 2 and 16A services. Find out more about diversions and timetable changes here. Cycle September is running from 1-30 September 2019 and we'd like to invite you all to take part.
