The draft Issues and Options Consultation document for the North East Cambridge Area Action Plan (AAP) has been submitted to Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council for approval to publish for consultation. The decision was taken to change the name from the Cambridge Northern Fringe AAP to the North East Cambridge AAP. Today (25th January) is the last day Chariot will offer service on commuter routes in the UK. All operations in the UK and across the US will cease by the end of March. Ely Southern Bypass walkway opened mid this week. The new bypass opened to traffic in October last year and this is the final piece of the new jigsaw. The separate walkway linking Fen Rivers Way and Ouse Valley Way footpaths will provide a new walking route with impressive views of Ely Cathedral and the surrounding landscape.
Ely Southern Bypass is a 1.7km single carriageway with a viaduct crossing the Great Ouse and a bridge over two railway lines. It connects the A142 at Angel Drove to Stuntney Causeway. The underpass work, to improve access for pedestrians and cyclists, continues and will be finished by the end of February. For more information, please see here. The Cambourne to Cambridge public transport route is a first phase of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority’s plans for a wider, regional metro network – the Cambridgeshire Autonomous Metro (CAM).

Phase 2 consultation opens on Monday 4th February 2019 which links the route west of Madingley Mulch roundabout to Bourn Airfield and on to Cambourne, and a new Park & Ride facility.
