The online survey, which took place in March, has provided crucial information from 760 respondents on what’s working well and what could be done differently with future cycle schemes.
Some of the highlights from the survey which were considered were that 88% of respondents felt safe using the cycleways and almost a third of respondents (32%) cycle more frequently following the creation of cycleways. As a result of the survey, a number of recommendations will be made when planning future cycleways. For example, cycleways should be more regularly maintained, more informative signage, and ensuring public consultation documents are not too technical.
