We have improved our extensive range of professional services and resources, however, difficult economic times has meant that the nature of our membership also needed to be reviewed.
Previously TfC membership was free of charge for organisations wishing to join, relying on the successful bidding of central government sustainable transport funding. We will continue to bid for sustainable transport funding, but in order to safeguard the long-term future of the service we have had to introduce a paid-for membership model.
TfC still remains a not for profit organisation; the fees cover our operating costs and, as I am sure you will agree, represent excellent value-for-money. For many employers, discounts on staff travel can significantly defray the membership fee alone.
This new direction also enables us to go further, with additional initiatives, activities and incentives added to our member offering and I’m excited about the possibilities this relaunch brings us.
